Addiction and Substance Abuse Ministry

Addiction and Substance Abuse Ministry

Vision Statement:

Our vision, as born-again believers and as it refers to substance abuse, is that every person should have a chance to live life free of alcohol and drugs. If a person should fall to alcohol or drugs it is our belief that they should receive biblical based counseling to provide support and recovery through referrals to a certified drug treatment program.

Mission Statement:

Our mission is to provide substance abuse counseling, guidance and referrals to a certified drug treatment program when needed. Also, to provide education on drugs, drug use, drug trends and signs and symptoms of someone using drugs.

Scriptural Foundation:

“And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit.” Ephesians 5: 18

Ministry Meetings:

The Addiction and Substance Ministry meets quarterly to discuss policies, procedures, cases, and service opportunities. Outreach and informational events are planned at the meetings.

Collaboration with Other Ministries and Agencies:

The Addiction and Substance Ministry collaborates with other ministries to serve our congregation, to include Evangelism Ministry, Missions Ministry, Prayer Ministry, Job Ministry, Christian Counseling Ministry, Men’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Mental Health Awareness Ministry, Wellness Foundation Ministry, and Youth Ministry. The Addiction and Substance Ministry also collaborates with other agencies to serve our congregation, to include Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous.
