Congregational Care Ministry
Congregational Care Ministry
Vision Statement:
To provide comfort, care and support for people in special times of need.
Mission Statement:
To demonstrate care and compassion towards those TSAKS members who are unable, temporarily or long term, to attend church services.
Scriptural Foundation:
And don't forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God. Hebrews 13:16 (NLT)
Ministry Goals:
Our goals are to establish a personal presence with individuals who are hospitalized, homebound for short and/or long-term periods of time. The expectation is that TSAKS members will be visited by church leadership (i.e., Pastor, Elders, Ministers, Deacons) physically, verbally by phone or with a card or note on a minimum of once a week when possible.
Visitation Assignments:
The Minister of Congregational Care will assign Ministers and Deacons to visit members on the “Survivors List” on a weekly basis. Assignments are made based on the Deacons and Ministers assigned Charge Team for the week. The Diaconate consists of four teams (i.e., A, B, C, D), the Ministerial Staff consists of five teams (i.e., 1st Sunday, 2nd Sunday, 3rd Sunday, 4th Sunday, 5th Sunday). All charge teams will be given visitation assignments first. If the number of visits exceeds the number of Diaconate and Minister charge teams, then visitation assignments will be distributed to the member’s watch care Deacon, Minsters on the 5th Sunday charge team, member’s ministry leader (i.e., Minister of Youth/Young Adult, Men’s Minister, Women’s Minister, Minister to Golden Agers). Assignments are emailed on the Thursday or Friday before the start of the charge week and must be completed and returned to the Minister of Congregational Care by the Sunday after the assigned charge week.
